Barcelona

This time I will share my latest trip to Barcelona in February 2013. I’ve booked the ticket in October 2012 through KLM website:-) I went there with my son and my friend. The flight route was Trondheim – Amsterdam – Barcelona – Amsterdam – Trondheim.

We arrived in Barcelona in the afternoon and took train to the nearest Metro station to the HCC Montblanc hotel (I booked the hotel via hoteltravel). Our hotel is located just next to  Plaça Catalunya, a large square in central Barcelona.  At night, we walked to Tapa Tapa to have dinner (Tapa Tapa).

The next day, my son had a problem with his stomach but he still wanted to go out 🙂 We decided to visit La Sagrada Familia. My son was quite sick and he just sat inside the church while I took some pictures.

After La Sagrada Familia, I changed my initial plan and decided to visit Camp Nou, Barcelona Football stadium. My son was excited and looked like he forgot his stomach problem. Camp Nou is the third largest football stadium in the world after Sao Paulo and Mexico City. We took Barcelona FC stadium tour. It was quite expensive (EUR 23 for adult and EUR 17 for child) but it’s worth it since my son was so happy 😀 He also wanted an original t-shirt from the store inside the stadium and it cost EUR 86 (Later I found out that the t-shirt cost around EUR 60 in the airport 😦  )

From Camp Nou, we took metro to the nearest station to Parc de Montjuïc. The top of the hill can be reached using Funicular de Montjuïc, however we decided to walk to the top of the hill. From Montjuïc, we can have overview of the harbour and southwest of the city center.

From Montjuïc, we walked to Joan Miró Museum but it was closed. Juan Miró museum is a modern art museum to honor Juan Miró. We then decided to walk to the Olympic stadium which located not far from the museum.

Since it was already late in the afternoon, we decided to go back to our hotel. At night we walked around Plaça Catalunya and La Rambla.

The next day we walked to Arc de Triomf, Ciutadella Park and visited Barcelona zoo. Ciutadella Park is located at the end of the wide promenade at Arc de Triomf and Barcelona zoo is located near Ciutadella Park.

I decided to walk by myself to visit La Boqueria market (I saw the market when we walked in La Rambla the night before).
