I will write the last part of my trip in December 2009. PARIS!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I took flight from Bergamo Milan and arrived at Paris Beauvais. Beauvais aeroport is located at the north of the city. I took airline shuttle which cost 15 EUR and it took more than an hour to Métro at Porte Mailot station. I stayed in an apartment which located at district 18th (near Sacré Coeur) together with my other 4 friends that had already arrived earlier. I almost took the wrong Metro from Porte Mailot station and luckily there was a girl who can speak English and she told me to change the Metro to the same one but toward the other directions.
Before went to Paris, I’ve already bought Paris Pass which allow queue jumping to 60 attractions including river cruise and free Metro and public transport travel.(Paris Pass)
Our first plan was to visit The Louvre and we spent the whole day at the museum.
In the afternoon we took Seine river cruise since it’s included in the Paris Pass and it’s free 🙂
The next day we went to Versailes. Versailles is a city on western edge of the Frenchcapital city Paris, now part of the sprawling metropolis within the Ile de France region. Versailles is best known for being the site of the vast royal palace and gardens built by King Louis XIV within what was previously a royal hunting lodge. It is also one of the wealthiest cities near Paris (copy from Versailles). We took train to Versailles and when we arrived there, there was a long queue that we cannot avoid, so we also spent the whole day in Versailles.
I am not good in telling history. To get an overview of the complete history about Versailles you can read at Wiki.
The next day we visited Notre Dame Cathedral and we had to queue for more than an hour to get into the top of Notre Dame Cathedral.
From Notre Dame, we took a short walk to a street nearby and I saw some funny pictures behind the Cluny Museum.
Then we took Metro to Arch de Triomphe and took a stroll along Champs-Elysées.
The next day we went to Sacré Coeur which is located near our apartment. Then we visited Grevin Museum (wax museum), Centre Georges Pompidou and finished that day with a visit to Eiffel Tower. It was New Year’s Eve and we celebrated New Year near Sacré Coeur.
In New Year’s Day, we went to Paris Disneyland. YIPPIII 🙂
One week is not enough to visit Paris. I visited other places in Paris on my second trip to Paris which will I share in this blog.
